Balance

I wasn't exactly feeling supported today. I know it costs a lot of money to buy organic food. So I bought half organic and half regular. But I felt like I wasn't being supported beyond that. I feel like the world is staring back at me saying, you say you are going to change, but are you going to go back to your old ways in a short while?

Yes I am keeping daily to-do lists, and checklists, and writing down motivational quotes, and regularly checking my weekly schedule. But what if I get tired of it and jump off the tracks and come bumping to a halt? I guess that could happen, but I think I would be ok with it. If I made a healthy choice, its a healthy choice. If half my choices are healthy, thats better than all my choices being unhealthy. I can look back and say, "i got a lot accomplished! I learned a lot about myself that will help me in the future!"

What I'm really trying to do is create habits. So I don't have to include brushing AND flossing my teeth on my daily checklist, because I already do it. So I'm already thinking about dinner in the morning, and I've already learned how to cook it haha. So when the time comes that my life gets in the way I am still goal oriented and have my priorities engrained in me. I see it as an investment.

Today (well yesterday, since its 12:15am) I did a lot! I slept in :), then I went to Yoga, which I plan on doing every Tuesday, and I cooked lunch and dinner, and taught piano lessons, and took a shower, and went grocery shopping, and nursed my baby a bunch. I didn't finish folding the laundry... So weighing my goods and bads, it was good.

I love my kids. I had fun getting on my tummy with Eva during her playtime. And Diego and I made chalk pictures on black paper of spiders and pumpkins and ghosts. Diego didn't want to be a good listener today, and that wore on my patience. But Eva was happy and giggly. There is balance in all things, just like i learned and practiced in Yoga.

And there is even balance in my opposition. The world (and certain people) might say my success won't last, but i'm pushing right back, saying, "Yes, it will."

It was raining, let me rephrase that. POURING. But we had fun. We stripped diego when we got done and had him take a warm bath. He grabbed his pumpkin the next morning and was ready to do it again, he even tried to walk to the neighbors house for more candy. We had to tell him he had to wait til next year.

He LOVES sleeping on the floor. He puts his pillow right under his head, and his blankets are usually perfectly draped over himself. This example has him sleeping with his dinosaurs.

Diego fell off a slide wrong and hit his forehead on an exposed cement block. Poor kid! We felt bad because we were standing right there and couldn't help him!!!

We take a lot of baths at our house. Diego likes to find something new to decorate himself with every day. These two examples are permanent black sharpie (which is still on him by the way), and green food coloring (which has permanently been splattered around the kitchen)

A few weeks ago, diego got into the fridge, took out the whole carton of eggs, and threw them all out the back door.

Its one of those things that you just make a memory instead of getting mad...

Vacation to Salt Lake City and Idaho Falls

We had a blast on our Utah/Idaho vacation! In salt lake city we went on a hike, to a water park, around temple square, did a session at the Salt Lake Temple, and went to the Zoo. Then in Idaho falls we visited my wonderful Grandma, Went to a small amusement park, visited relatives, went to the Idaho Falls temple, church, and made banana bread. It was a fun filled 6 days!

Diego was a trooper in the car. He did wonderful for the 1800+ miles and the 35+ hours. He mostly slept, played, looked out the window, and watched his favorite movie, Finding Nemo

Diego is Growing like a Weed

Our little baby is getting so tall! He is now in 3t clothes. And for anyone that has lifted him he is completely solid and weighs almost 35 pounds! We just love him so much!

Day on Boat for Blue Angels

Me, Diego, and Grandad Ed went out on the water to watch the blue angels fly overhead. The day was perfect! We had lunch and watched the show on a private deck. Diego was 'shooting' all the planes that flew by. The water was outrageously warm and relaxing. We jumped in multiple times.

Leah goes Blonde

I just got my hair done this afternoon and decided to go short and blonde. I think it looks cute and will work well for the summer months. Romeo thinks my head is glowing like a lightbulb...

Romeos BIke Ride

I am so proud of Romeo for keeping healthy habits like excercising. Lately he has been biking a lot. On this trip, he and my dad went 20 miles up the john wayne trail to the Snoqualmie Tunnel, then came 20 miles back. He said the views were amazing!

Summer is here!

We went to a little beach in Bellevue with Layne and the girls a few weeks ago. We are so excited for summer! Diego loves being in the water. So far this summer, he has walked right into a lake fully clothed and sat down and splashed around TWICE.

Family Vacation to Ocean Shores

We went on our first real family vacation to Ocean Shores the first weekend of June. It was short, but we had a great time! Diego Loved the Beach. He played in the sand with his new sand toys. His favorite thing to do was make sand cars on a bulldozed sand road, then stomp on them all.

There happened to be a huge kite festival going on the day we got there. They were really cool.

It was so nice to feel the peaceful ocean air, and spend quality time as a family.

Diego would run around and jump in the sand over and over. He had so much fun.

Nice to Have a Yard

One thing about living with my parents is we have more space! (even if its shared). Diego really likes having a backyard to play in and a swing set. Also, its a place where we can be ourselves, hence diego can wear whatever he wants.

There are no snowmen, because Diego doesn't like to be out in the snow. So we just sit and watch the snow fall from the window. It's so pretty!

Hiking

We went Hiking last month with Ed. We hiked four miles up the John Wayne Trail, then two miles down Twin Falls. It was raining on us, but it was fun. Here are some pictures.
